Lifelong Learning

The Lifelong Learning pathway is back by popular demand! You told us you wanted continued emphasis on core education at ACC.10 and i2 Summit, and we listened. You asked for more opportunities to meet the requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and credentialing, and we responded — in a big way!

As part of the Lifelong Learning program, ACC.10 and i2 Summit have again placed a major clinical focus on the core fundamentals of cardiovascular education. Again this year, you can obtain MOC points at ACC.10 and i2 Summit by participating in study sessions approved by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). At the same time, Cardiology Core Curriculum sessions offer a review of every major area of cardiology, helping you to prepare for board exams or refresh clinical knowledge and skills at any stage of your career.

The Lifelong Learning program has something for every cardiologist!

MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION

Are you among the thousands of cardiologists who will soon renew a 10-year time-limited Board Certificate in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, or Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology? If so, ACC.10 and i2 Summit offer a special bonus you won’t want to miss.

Again this year, ACC.10 and i2 Summit feature dedicated workshops to help you earn MOC points in medical knowledge — points you need before taking the secure board examination. And best of all, it’s all available at no additional charge. Workshop costs are included in your registration fee, but you must sign up when you register in order to attend.

These interactive MOC study sessions are all based on home study modules approved by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Review with the experts, learn alongside your peers, challenge your medical knowledge with practice test questions, and get instant feedback with an audience response system. After the study session, take advantage of nearby computer workstations to immediately take the post-test for each MOC module. Each module prepares you to earn 10 MOC points

CARDIOLOGY CORE CURRICULUM

With the constant growth in cardiovascular knowledge and technology, the need to learn doesn’t end once you enter practice. Update your knowledge, refresh your skills or simply prepare for the board certification examination with ACC’s highly respected Lifelong Learning Cardiology Core Curriculum. This bread-and-butter refresher course is divided into 90-minute intensives covering all major areas of cardiology. Breaking research is important, but you know there’s more to building outstanding clinical judgment and being a good doctor. This is the fundamental information you need to achieve that critical goal.

NEW THIS YEAR! Earn MOC Points with the New Competency-Based Learning System

The ACC is piloting a Competency-Based Learning System (CBLS) as part of the MOC Core Curriculum sessions. Participating attendees are invited to complete an online pre-test that will highlight your areas of educational need.

You can then select the Core Curriculum sessions at ACC.10 that will complement your educational needs as identified in the pretest. You will be able to take an online post-test after ACC.10 to receive ABIM Part II MOC credit.

Click here to register now for ACC.10 to participate. You will receive your invitation to take the pre-test within 1 week. If you’re already registered for ACC.10, you will be receiving your invitation to participate in the pre-test within the next week.
