11th Annual NDCR Meeting Preconference

Wednesday, March 10

 

The ICD Registry Intensive Session: Get Up to Speed on V2.0 is a targeted session designed for current ICD Registry participants. Scheduled as an NCDR Annual Meeting preconference, it will be held on the day prior NCDR Annual Meeting, in the same location. This half-day morning meeting incorporates an open format including presentations by ACC staff and physicians. Highlights include review of the expanded scope to include data on generators, leads and Pediatric ICD implantation; ICD Registry resource tools; live demonstration of the newly enhanced V2.0 data collection tool; review of the new DQR process; and review of V2.0 data elements and definitions. Click here to view the agenda.

 

The CathPCI Registry Intensive Session: Cruising with V4.3 is designed for current CathPCI Registry participants. This half-day afternoon meeting, also held the day prior to the NCDR Annual Meeting, incorporates group discussion and presentations by ACC staff and physicians. Highlights include a review of the rationale for selected CathPCI Registry data elements and their definitions; the newly enhanced on-line data collection tool and DQR; the V4.3 Outcomes Report; and CathPCI Registry resource tools. The NCDR Annual meeting is the premiere educational event for NCDR participants, providing the opportunity to gain new registry-specific knowledge, improve data collection skills and learn proven techniques and best practices through networking, story boards and real-life case studies. The meeting is held prior to ACC.10, March 11 – 12, at the Atlanta Hilton, Focused on driving data to maximize reporting, results and reform, the 11th Annual NCDR Meeting will offer more experts, case studies, success strategies and networking. “Boot Camp” for Cardiology Fellowship Program Directors and Coordinators: Educating the Educators

With the paradigm shifting from a topic and time based curriculum to one that is competency-based, it has never been a more important time for training program directors to partake of education and tools to manage these changes. The “Boot Camp” for Cardiology Fellowship Program Directors and Coordinators Educating the Educators conference, a CME credited offering in Atlanta, March 13, 2010, addresses this need. This course is designed to improve your skills in complying with ACGME and ABIM requirements and to understand the challenges inherent to educating cardiologists today.  The conference features a panel of leading faculty and experts who will lead a discussion about present and future national requirements and provide strategies and tools that can be applied in your own setting to assure compliance and improve skills as local leaders in education. We’re hoping you’ll join us in Atlanta to take advantage of a forum to communicate with your colleagues, discuss effective teaching and learning methods for fellows and learn from education experts. 2nd Annual International Cardiovascular Conference: Focus on the Middle East

The American College of Cardiology Foundation, invites you to participate in the 2nd Annual International Cardiovascular Conference: Focus on the Middle East on March 13, 2010 in Atlanta. Building on the success of the First International Cardiovascular Conference, held in Indianapolis on April 1 – 2, 2009, this event will explore advances made in diagnosis, treatment and management of cardiovascular disease with a focus on how these are applied in the context of physician practice in the Middle East. This event is designed to bring together participants from around the globe to learn from each other’s knowledge base and experiences on how to care for patients with cardiovascular diseases and develop ways to foster collaboration between physicians in Western and Middle Eastern societies. Brindis, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.C. as president of the College. New Fellows receive their F.A.C.C. certificates immediately following the ceremony.
